Do you know what it means to miss New Orleans?

I do! Like the crazy cousins said on King of Queens, "New Orleans is OUR town!" In fact, in the past 10 years, Clinton and I have been 7 times.

We haven't made any definite plans to go this year, however. We've said maybe, if we can swing it after our (semi) planned family beach vacation. But then, this arrived in the mailbox...

And that feeling came back... that bottom of the heart yearning. For some reason, Clinton and I both get these feelings of yearning to go there! We love that town! For those of you who haven't been, it really has little to do with Bourbon Street, although, we have spent our time there. It's the food, atmosphere, and people! Since I have those feelings, I did some reminiscing and looked through some of our old pictures. Here are a few of my faves of the trip we took in May of 2008. (I was pregnant with Emma!!)

This is a picture of a picture of the 9th Ward after Hurricane Katrina.

My mouth is watering. These are the best fried pies, EVER! Yes, even better than my Memaw's. Yes, I said it!

Oh my God! I could go for some of this right now!

Just because I was pregnant, Clinton didn't feel as if he should miss out!

These guys ended up on America's Got Talent!
I realize that these pictures mainly show the French Quarter, but there is so much more to see!

Last year, we took Emma for the first time. I wrote about it here and later posted the pictures here.

Her first beignet!

Playing with Clinton in Jackson Square.
I think I'll go flip through the new Visitor's Guide, and plan a trip, even if it is only a wishful thinking one!

  2. Yum! Look at that food. The year we were planning on going and planning a coastal trip up to Alabama and Mississippi - was the hurricane. We haven't made plans since, but I definitely want to go someday soon.
