Christmas Program

I had 1 niece and 4 nephews (and countless cousins) in the elementary school's program this year, so of course, I HAD to go, but the dang thing started at 8:30 am! Are you freaking kidding me? Regardless, I loaded up myself and my desperately tired toddler and drove to Rivercrest.

I love the program and I love Mrs. Oats, who was my music teacher when I was in elementary school and still has the kids sing the classics (well, classics to me anyway).

Alex as a "Dancing Elf". Second row, 4th from right.

Two of the girls singing are cousins, check out Alex in her shades in the back... I can't wait to show these pictures to her friends when she's in high school.

Emma and Kinsley wouldn't allow Andrea to hold one of them without the other... they are so jealous.

The Pre-K doing the Nativity. I thought they were so cute, and I remember being Mary in Kindergarten! Aww, memories.

Kamryn (second row, 4th from left) and Kirk (second row, 3rd from right). Somehow, I don't think Kirk is paying attention.

I don't think Kam is singing as loud as the kids around him.

Bradyn (third row, 4th from left)

Emma and Kinsley, both of them, back in Andrea's lap.

FIVE golden rings!

There was an "intermission" between K-2 and 3&4 grade. (Fifth grade performed their play for both groups). Bradyn came and sat with me for the second half.

Alex, fresh from the stage, holding Emma.

Jalyn surprised us all by singing a solo. He sang "What Child is This?" and his classmates accompanied him with recorders.

Updates...

I WILL post about Christmas and the surrounding festivities soon. Our household has been taking over by illness, a hundred thousand new toys, and general laziness. But rest assured, anyone who checks this blog periodically, I will update it eventually...

Cough, cough, sneeze...

Baking Christmas Cookies

Emma and I got a special request (from Clinton) to make some sugar cookies with icing and sprinkles. I vetoed the icing, because I wasn't sure how good of an idea it was to let Emma decorate with icing (or eat cookies with icing on my couch or something!) Since I'm the resident baker in the family, Clinton took over the camera to capture Emma's first time making Christmas cookies.
Notice how purple those pants start out.

And no, she didn't get her feet in the cookies.

She was a little timid at first.

Cutting her first cookie!

"I did it!"

Showing Daddy the cutters.

Putting the cookies on the tray.

Helping me roll out the second batch.

More help.

Giving me five!

Cutting the second batch.

Putting the sprinkles on.

Feeding Daddy a cookie.

Some of our "masterpieces".

And now, what color are those pants?

Christmas Lights

Tonight, we were all driving around town looking at the Christmas lights, when I remembered that I forgot to post about going to Santa Land after we went to the Princess on Ice show. OK, so maybe I didn't forget. Maybe, I was just procrastinating. Nah, that's not like me. (wink, wink)

Before driving through the lights, we took the girls to get their picture taken with Santa, but neither one of them would get anywhere near him. Hope Santa gets their letters this year, because he sure didn't hear their wish lists from them.
We tried to get a picture of the girls standing in front of one of the "Dancing Trees", but the girls (Emma) wouldn't cooperate, and neither did the tree!

Kinsley & Emma were worn out from the day, so their daddies held them for the picture. As you can see, the tree still didn't light up when I wanted it to!
