How Did This Happen?

This morning my mom and I took Emma to the farmer's market to have her picture taken with bunnies and chicks for Easter. When we got there the line was huge, we were like 50 kids back! After waiting for awhile (with Em running wild and being bad), we decided that if we did wait the hour or so to have the pictures made, she more than likely wouldn't do it because she was being so ornery. So we bailed on the photo session. Then Emma proceeded to throw a huge fit because she wanted to see the bunnies and chicks! My mom suggested we go by the farm store, Atwood's, to see if they had some that we could let Emma see. Well, they did. We oohed and aahed over the baby chicks, ducks, guineas, and rabbits. Then something crazy happened. I don't know who suggested that we get Emma a bunny. I really don't think I would have suggested it, but I can't remember my mom suggesting it either. I think my brain is blocking it out. Next thing I know, we were heading home with the car loaded down with a cage, food, etc. and Emma had a bunny that we were calling E.B. (Easter Bunny).

MOPS Egg Hunt

A mom, from the MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group I go to, organized an egg hunt! This was egg hunt #2 for Emma! Although the wind about blew us away, there was a great turnout and Emma had a blast!

The kids played on the playground while the eggs were hidden! Emma was pretty scared of this slide, but she conquered her fear!

Is she going to do it?

Yes!

She did it! Slid down the big slide!

Then it was time to hunt the eggs! Emma cheated and started before she was supposed to!

It was a lot of fun and Emma was so proud of her eggs!

Ballgame Highlights

Three of my four nephews play on the Bogata Rangers baseball team. Emma and I went to see them play this week. Here are a few of the highlights...

Getting Ready for Easter

Today, Emma and I pretty much just did prep work for this weekend.

First we made rice crispy treats!

Melting the butter.

Pouring in the marshmallows (and eating a few!)

Missed the pan!

And finally, stirring in the cereal (and sprinkles)!

Then we boiled two dozen eggs and filled around 100 plastic eggs with candy. I'm not exaggerating that number, I counted! We do have four egg hunts to go to this week!

Later, we went to Kinswee's house (that's Emma speak for Kinsley's) to decorate eggs. But first things first, we had to have a treat!

Brittney and I cut them out with cookie cutters!

Em's is a butterfly, Kinsley's is a flower!

This one is a tulip... I ate it!

Then it was time to start decorating eggs! Things started good!

All set!

 We had a couple of egg tragedies, though.

 After this, things got progressively worse. The girls weren't nearly as interested in decorating the eggs as we thought they'd be.

One of the few eggs I actually got Emma to decorate!

By the end, they were way over it!
